Coexistence

Coexistence

Artist’s Note:

Coexistence: The painting talks about coexistence, living together in harmony, and appreciating the good in everyone, regardless of race. The Black and White-colored beads are representing race. The red and blue colored beads represent the colors of the U.S. flag, and the green and blue and other shades are connectivity and living together in coexistence. The red figure painted in circles represents humanity and seeing the beauty in the movement of coexistence.

Experience as an artist: 2020 was a year of a heavy heart for everyone. With COVID in full swing and racism coming into play, it has been very daunting, I feel that we need to focus on the common good for everyone, have empathy, and coexist to make this difficult part of our journey less strenuous.

Painted: July 11, 2020
